This project was a YHN development of 3 x 2-bedroom units on a brownfield site in Denton, Newcastle.
In the planning stages our in-house Design Department provided several iterations of the plan and estimate in order to revise the size, orientation and layout of the properties –to make sure we gave the client the most valuable end product, at the most economical cost.
- Light Gauge Steel frame – increased the rate of construction and allowed the trades following to commence earlier
- Full site required grouting due to the proximity of shallow mine workings. When cured, this stabilises the surrounding strata and prevents the buildings from sinking
- The three bungalows were designed to meet Lifetime Homes, Secured by Design and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 criteria and are accredited where appropriate
- The bungalows were designed for wheelchair access including a structural design which allows the future installation of accessibility equipment
