The Empire Palace, as it was originally named, first opened its doors in 1907 and has remained a hugely popular and iconic venue in the northeast ever since. This project for Meldrum was several stages of refurbishment of the Grade II listed and intricately decorated building.
- In-house we manufactured bespoke joinery for the interior decoration to ensure replication and protection of the existing features
- Theatre entrance alterations and door replacement
- Full toilet and facilities refurbishment
- Foyer upgrade
- Bar modernisation
- During the works the client was able to maintain full use of the building and all facilities
An important aspect of this project was the timings as we needed to be mindful of the theatre’s scheduling – due to our precision timing and expertise all works were completed by ‘curtain up’.
