This project was the full refurbishment of the partly Grade II listed building and two adjacent buildings to form 57 student studios with the addition of an office and restaurant.  Demolition took place at the rear of all properties to form 2 staircases and a lift.

Key Features

The project was split into 3 blocks comprising of the following:

Block A – refurbishment of the basement and ground floor offices, amended to one unit with student accommodation on the first, second and third floors.

Block B – The Hotspur Public House remained trading during the works. The first and second floors were altered to form student accommodation. A third floor of student accommodation was added and built on top of the existing building.

Block C – Grade II listed section refurbished to form offices on the ground floor and services in the basement.

The split project enabled us to decant and re-locate occupants whilst the asbestos removal took place. As this was a live environment it was paramount that we worked closely with the occupants to ensure the areas were kept operational and safe.
