Meldrum Grow Team
Meldrum Construction Services has boosted its senior management team with two influential additions to the staff.
As part of the business growth plan managing director David Meldrum has added a finance director and a construction manager to the team based in Birtley.
Jim Brown brings with him 14 years experience as a chartered account and has joined Meldrum as finance director with the aim of assisting to drive the company forward financially.
From Heighington, family man Jim has three children, and recently completed an MBA. He said:
“Joining Meldrum at this exciting time is a real challenge for me – the company is very well built with strong financial foundations, which makes it perfect for me to focus on growth. I will be revamping processes internally to ensure that we remain healthy through this coming growth period. As a member of the senior management team I will also be advising the board on profitability and quality of service.”
Ian Howmans from Blaydon joined at the same time as Jim, as construction manager. His role will see him overseeing construction projects throughout the region.
Bringing with him 27 years experience in the industry, Ian also hopes to develop new systems within the company such as ISO: 9001. He said:
“Over the last few years I have noticed how Meldrum seemed to be working on a number of high profile building jobs across the region and kept seeing their vans everywhere. I am now delighted to be part of the team especially at a time where I can be involved in introducing new policies to help the company structure their current expansion.”
As well as team expansion, Meldrum has been focusing on communication with existing and potential clients and has just launched a new website at www.meldrumcs.com. Dave Meldrum said:
“The last few months has seen a lot of what seemed like long term plans coming to fruition. Jim and Ian joining us is pivotal to further expansion, and our marketing standards are improving rapidly. That combined with the quality of build and great service we have built our reputation on so far should see us going from strength to strength.”
