Meldrum are proud to be involved with the Go Bananas appeal this June for The Sunshine fund.
We have an eager team of employees and friends ready to take on the challenges and support this fantastic charity.
The Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund provides specialised equipment to children with disabilities in the North East of England, individuals, groups, registered organisations, special and mainstream schools and hospitals can ask for our support to improve the lives of children with disabilities.
The Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund was founded in 1928 by King George V, he came to Newcastle to open the Tyne Bridge, while he was here he donated £15 to give underprivileged children a day out to the coast, the Evening Chronicle adopted the idea of giving to children in the area and the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund was established.
As part of Go Bananas this year we will be taking part in the CEO Wheelchair basketball challenge on Friday 19th June at the Metro Centre.
Our aim is not only to raise money for sports wheelchairs but also to give the participants an idea of what our children’s lives are like being in a wheelchair.
