The Meldrum Demolition Ball raised a fantastic £31,000 for The Prince’s Trust. This year was our 5th annual ball and was bigger and better than ever. 300 guests attended the event at The Stephenson Works, Newcastle; the night was full of entertainment and surprises with the band Hip Operation and a surprise performance from The Drumming Builders. As the dancing commenced the curtains were drawn to reveal a games area with miniature ‘meldrum forklifts’, Giant Jenga and Batak to name but a few.
This year Meldrum have seen many changes, the company has grown significantly over the last year and this success is clearly demonstrated through the fantastic effort that was put into this year’s event. Meldrum’s reputation as a business based on building solutions with integrity has only been earned because all members of the team share the companies value’s. Meldrum Value homegrown talent and many members of our 160 – strong team joined the company as apprentices or have been sponsored through degrees and college courses. With a new wave of nine recruits to our apprenticeship scheme it is clear that the company ties a close link to the ethos of The Prince’s Trust.
Dave Meldrum sits on the Development Committee for The Prince’s Trust North East and has had the pleasure of visiting some of the front line projects and really understands where the money raised goes to. Events such as these make a real difference to the lives of hundreds of young people in the region.
