At Meldrum one of our specialities is working on heritage sites and Grade I and II listed buildings. In recent years we have become renowned for this and through our expertise and quality of workmanship we have been able to secure prestigious and highly specialised projects.
Meldrum is a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, and we take great pride in our work to ensure the listed structures we work on are treated with the upmost respect and care that they deserve. Some of the iconic heritage projects we have worked on include St Nicholas Cathedral and the Bruce Building in the centre of Newcastle, and we have recently undertaken the refurbishment of the beautiful St Hilda’s Colliery in South Shields. In Bishop Auckland there are 2 projects underway – the restoration of Auckland Castle itself, and the creation of The Spanish Gallery in the market square.
The importance of careful and intelligent preservation is paramount throughout these heritage projects, and at Meldrum we pride ourselves on being able to offer the skills and expertise required.
